We celebrate the end of our 2nd program with an openhouse exhibition. This time our theme is Man Vs. Machine. Members have spent 15 weeks learning various interMEDIA techniques and creating work inspired by this theme.

Our new program connects our artistic practice to our community. Taking an interMEDIA approach to looking at our city, students will create works which try to capture Chicago's vibrant urban landscape.

This program is also a collaboration with a class at Saint Xavier University. The program ends with a joint CAD/SXU exhibition.

Taken from the name of Nat and Mikes company, Zero One Projects LLC, this program is designed for people who are interested in applying their art as a profession or business. Participants will explore such topics as client work, project management, product development, administration, marketing and other facets of business in the form of independent projects.

Interested in starting your own company? Get a taste with firsthand experience. Already have a company? Use this to experiment, innovate, and improve.

AUTOMATIC CONTROLS

Whether or not we realize it, there are a number of aspects of our daily lives that we put into the control of the “machine” of society.

MAKING IT POP

This past week CAD students explored the digital coloring of black and white imagery. Making it POP was alsoa project in process-based, collaborative artmaking as every student created art based on a set of agreed upon rules.

CAD OUTREACH IN NYC

CAD instructor Mike Nourse's video, Terror, Iraq, Weapons was screened this past 9-11 weekend in New York City at ResFest. ResFest is a world-wide touring digital film festival which showcases some of the most cutting-edge work in digital film and motion graphics. Mike's piece was part of the program "Bushwacked" which featured a number of political works created in the last 3 years.
